Short reply:
XM units are three channels lamp build with Cree XM-L and Cree XP-E Blue and Royal blue leds.
One unit will cover 34x32" without problems - but if you are looking for much more wide light source - please wait a little for Triton lamp - it is like Hyperion 8ch lamp(9 diffrent LED chips) including UV-A, Cree XM-L and newest Cree XT-E 450 and 465nm(very sharp spikes), Red, Orange, Green etc(every channel controlled separatly) - but Triton will have Black Python series footprint - and of course - all the same advantages like Hyperion.
It will be perfect lamp for aquariums up to 34" - or very deep tanks - because all leds can be equiped with 40,60 or 90 degree lenses(or default - without lenses and very wide light beam).
