Interessato alla questione (ho appena iniziato ad allevare questi pesci... grazie Danny!) ho trovato in Rete quanto segue e riporto "papale papale" (fonte: "Discus fish", ediz. Barron's):

Su questo testo, viene anche sostenuto quanto segue:
"Though discus are not very tolerant of fluctuations in many water parameters, discus have proven to be remarkably adaptable to varying degrees of hardness in aquarium water, thriving in water with a general hardness of over 20°dH (358 ppm CaCo3).... omissis... Most tank-raised discus are raised in slightly hard water (between 9 and 12°dH).... omissis... In general, discus should not be kept in water that is harder than 18°dH, with around 11°dH being a convenient ideal"
Premetto che il testo opera una sostanziale differenza tra discus di cattura e "tank-raised"...
