Dovremmo prima di tutto metterci d'accordo sui termini ANAEROBIC, ANOSSICO e simili... anzi, dovremmo iniziare a parlare di concentrazioni di ossigeno ben precise per capire e capirci.

Paolo, leggendo l'articolo non ne parla, e dice che le radici si estendono indifferentemente nelle zone anaerobiche e anossiche:
Rooted Plants: Plants store carbon, soak up heavy metals, and the roots carry oxygen into anaerobic and anoxic regions where it supports aerobic bacteria as they absorb mineral nutrients there.
Plants can extend their roots into anoxic zones where their oxygen allows aerobic hydrogen sulfide eating bacteria access to the source while the roots get access to soluble mineral nutrients released by anaerobic bacteria.
