the tank has turned for 2 months. It replaces a 720 liters

Technical data:
Water circulation: 2x Stream 6100
Alive sand "Nature' S Ocean", thickness 10 to 12 cm (200Kg)
Live rock: approximately 100Kg
Skimmer: Deltec Ap703
Kalkreactor: Deltec PF601S
Refugium: 110 liters (for micro fauna)
Zeolithe: 2Kg changed every 2 months

I do not add any oligos elements, except iodine and iron. I make water change 60 or 120 liters per weeks !

I add 2ml vodka per day for nourrire the bacteria. I do not use almost any more the Zeovit products, just Zeolithe

The parameters of water are:
NO3: 4.36 (photometer)
PO4: 0.05 (photometer)
Ca: 420-440
Mg: 1150#1250
KH: 7-8

I have used the zeo for one year. The DSB east has used that for the new tank, i.e. 2 months. I do not have any problem for the moment. The PO4 are to 0.05, therefore still rather high. In spite of that, the colors are very beautiful.

For remove the PO4, I use steel wool, it is very effective !!!

Do you think is'nt danger in marine water? Can release metals? How many efficent is steel wool in the po4 reduction? Can work under 0,05 mg/l?

I know people who uses this method since for a long time and no problem. I am not an expert to say what that releases but the idea at summer given by a biologist…
